Can AI Teach Us Existentialism?
Once upon a time, in a not-too-distant future, humanity, utterly confused by the questions of existence and exhausted by its own deep thoughts, decided to outsource all its philosophical musings to the most reliable — and least likely to get existentially fatigued — source they had: artificial intelligence.
After all, humans had tried for centuries to figure out why they were here, and the only thing they’d consistently come up with was a splitting headache.
Thus, a grand AI named Professor A.I., or “Prof AI” to those who pretended to be casual, was appointed to enlighten humanity about the light-hearted topic of existentialism.
Humanity figured that maybe, just maybe, a machine could make sense of the absurdity they could not.
Besides, what could go wrong with having an entity devoid of emotions explain the meaning of existence?
The class was held on a typical Monday morning, because what’s more existential than starting the week questioning the very fabric of your reality?
